Hello everyone! Thanks for your interest in Dragme. It means a lot to me.
I started developing Dragme a year ago and I wasn’t thinking about publishing the application. It all started with the problem that I was reading something on the computer and wanted to send the file quickly to my tablet. My tablet was laying next to my computer on the table and I thought it would be nice to drag my document directly from the computer to the tablet. So I started thinking about detecting a drag to the border of the screen and send the data that was draged to my tablet. I hadn’t done any serious development on OSX before and I thought it would be a nice way to get a deeper look to Cocoa and Objective-C by developing this application.
I was quite happy after I was able to detect a drag to the border of the screen and and get the data that was draged. But after that I didn’t continue to work on it. I added some little improvements but the app wasn’t usable for someone who didn’t know exactly how to use it.
In february I started to do my civilian service where my daily grind completly changed. I wasn’t programming the whole day anymore, so I was motivated to produce some code in my freetime and here are we now. I decided to complete this application and publish it, so may someone else can make use of it and help me to improve the features.
When I started working on it, I didn’t look for similar applications that already existed. I just started to develop for fun. Maybe there are some apps which do some similar things, but I wasn’t able to find one that does it exactly the same way. Anyway Dragme is free, just try it out and be aware that it’s still an early beta release and there will be bugs and problems.
Now have fun with Dragme and improve your workflow!
